Kate Edger Awards Empowering Through Education
The Kate Edger Education Charitable Trust recently held its annual Awards ceremony. It's the highlight of their year when 100+ women who have received funding from the Kate Edger Trust towards their education are celebrated. Angela was asked to be the guest speaker at this event.
The funding, totalling over $620,000 is made possible from the proceeds of their social enterprise Academic Dress Hire and generous sponsor partners. The Gattung Foundation partnered with the Kate Edger Foundation and the Raukatauri Music Therapy Centre to fund an award to encourage more women into the music therapy profession.
The 2023 awardee is Sinead Hegarty of Hawkes Bay who is in her final year of a Master of Music Therapy through Victoria University.
Through the sponsorship by the Gattung Foundation, another sponsor came forward and this was awarded to Sarah Byrne from Tauranga.
